Demi Lovato has shared more insight into the pressures of growing up in the spotlight. Speaking on Keke Palmer’s podcast, she reflected on her early days at Disney Channel alongside Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus.

Lovato said the network often created competition among its young stars, but her longtime friendship with Gomez, which began during their Barney days, gave her comfort entering Disney.

She admitted that constant comparisons were difficult at a young age, especially while dealing with insecurities. Still, her mother’s advice that there is room for everyone helped her stay grounded.

Lovato also revealed she struggled with an eating disorder and mental health challenges while filming. Despite that, she said she holds fond memories and values the lasting friendships from that period.
